Our pregnancy massage can help you to relax during the later months of your
pregnancy, while also targeting some of the aches and pains that can come with
carrying a child.
Massage during pregnancy can bring down the levels of stress hormones in your
body and reduce muscle tension. Regular treatments can relieve symptoms such as
neck or back pain, sciatica, leg cramping and aching joints. Prenatal massage
can also reduce the stress on your weight-bearing joints and improve the
functioning of your lymphatic system and circulation. All of this can help you
to sleep better and enjoy a more relaxed pregnancy.
You should be able to have a pregnancy massage as long as you are more than
three months pregnant, but you should ask your doctor for written approval
first. Unfortunately, if you are in the first three months of your pregnancy, we
can’t give you a massage yet. You will have to wait until you are out of the
first trimester.
If you are more than six months pregnant, you will be seated during the
treatment, but between three and six months, you can receive the treatment on
the massage table. Your therapist will help you to lie down on your side, and
will place supportive pillows wherever necessary to relieve the strain on your
lower back and pelvis. The therapist will then use specially designed prenatal
massage techniques to help you to relax and to relieve your pregnancy symptoms.
